Yuri on Ice – Skating Animation Changes Between the TV and BluRay/DVD Version – Episode

On the left, you’ll find the TV version, while on the right you can see the DVD/BluRay version.

In episode 8, JJ’s is the only program that gets any visual improvements on the DVD/BluRay versions. The other get only minor changes like background consistency improvements and such.

In the first snippet, we can see more of a zoom out during the second half of JJ’s jump, while in the second one you’ll notice that JJ has been entirely redrawn, now looking great and on model.

In the last one, instead of a shot of Morooka we get to see more of JJ’s skating.

I must say that with these changes JJ’s program looks almost perfect and I’m really impressed with it. The animation always went really well with the music, but now that most of the animation has been improved, it really makes it feel all the more awesome.
